South on the Halifax River
Yacht charter to
Ponce Inlet.
South past Port Orange toward the inlet and its lighthouse, with the whole yacht to your group. From $1,950 for two hours.
The southern route
From the marina in Daytona Beach, Envision can head south on the Halifax River, the sheltered stretch of the Intracoastal Waterway between the mainland and the barrier island. The river runs past Port Orange and on toward Ponce Inlet, where the Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse, the tallest lighthouse in Florida, stands beside the water. Dolphins are often seen along the way.
How far south you go depends on the length of your charter, the tide and the weather. The captain plans the route around your occasion: a run toward the inlet and back, a slow cruise past Port Orange, or a longer day with time at anchor. Because the water is protected, the ride is calm.
A private yacht, not a seat on a boat
Most charters you will find around Port Orange and Ponce Inlet are small boats or shared trips. Envision is a 110-foot Broward motor yacht, and when you book her she is yours alone for the time you choose. A licensed captain and crew run the yacht, so your group spends the charter on the flybridge or around the table.
There are three levels to spread out across: a bright salon and a dining room with a country kitchen inside, a covered aft deck for the table, and the open flybridge with a bar, a yacht tub and lounge seating. Thirteen guests fit without anyone feeling crowded.
Getting to the yacht
Envision boards at Loggerhead Marina at Caribbean Jack's in Daytona Beach: about 20 minutes north of Port Orange by car, and about half an hour from Ponce Inlet. Parking is easy. Plan to arrive 15 minutes before your departure; the exact address and arrival time come with your confirmation. Every guest signs a short online waiver before the day, and we send the link when you book.
How long to book
Two hours is the shortest charter. Four hours leaves time for a meal aboard, and six or eight hours make a full day with time at anchor. The longer the charter, the more time there is on the southern stretch of the river. Every length is priced for the whole yacht, and the full price list is on one page. Envision sails Thursday through Sunday.
Occasions on the southern route
Birthdays, anniversaries, a bachelorette weekend, family in town for the holidays, a team outing, or a sunset on the river. Each occasion has its own page with ideas for the day:
Questions about the southern route
- Does Envision board in Port Orange or Ponce Inlet?
- No. Envision boards at Loggerhead Marina at Caribbean Jack's in Daytona Beach, about 20 minutes by car from Port Orange and about half an hour from Ponce Inlet. There is plenty of parking. From the marina, the yacht cruises south on the river toward them.
- Will we see the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse?
- The lighthouse stands beside the river near the inlet, so it comes into view as the yacht heads that way. How far south a charter goes depends on its length, the tide and the weather. Call with your date and we will tell you what the route looks like for each length.
- Do we drive the boat ourselves?
- No. Envision is a captained charter. A licensed captain and crew run the yacht the whole time, so nobody in your group needs a license or any time on the water.
- How many people can come?
- Up to 13 guests in total, including the host. The price is for the whole yacht, so it is the same for two guests or thirteen, and nobody outside your group is aboard.
- Can we bring food and drinks?
- Yes. Bring your own, or bring a caterer. There are refrigerators and ice aboard. Envision does not sell alcohol, so guests 21 and over bring their own. A chef can be arranged in advance.
- How far ahead should we book?
- Bookings close seven days before the date. Weekends and Daytona's event weekends fill first, so call as soon as you have a date in mind and we will tell you what is open.
